Join hundreds of participants at Las Pinas-Paranaque Critical Habitat & EcoTourism Area in Manila to prove that empowered individuals and their communities can come together for an important social cause: keeping our oceans clean.
Spend 2 days clearing up the Las Piñas–Parañaque Critical Habitat Area and get paid up to 550 PHP per day. Payments will be made in ETH (a digital currency similar to Bitcoin).
Our #BountiesForTheOceans pilot has ended, but you can still contribute to the bounty, which will continue paying people on the ground to keep our oceans clean.
With our oceans in crisis, the devastating ecological consequences of our actions are becoming abundantly clear, and global solutions are needed. We believe blockchain-based bounties have the potential to incentivize global participation in social impact projects and donation crowdsourcing. We also believe bounties can significantly reduce the administrative costs and number of intermediaries needed to organize impact projects in the first place.
With Bounties for the Oceans, we are bridging the gap between social entrepreneurs and non-profit/NGOs in order to foster widespread and long-term behavioral shifts. We believe this will directly benefit communities, like Manila, that are extremely and increasingly affected by plastic waste.
Our hopes extend far beyond this one project. Imagine a decentralized social impact contribution network with the ability to extend across the globe. Not only would a network like this drastically reduce the friction involved in global impact projects, but it would give individuals and organizations the tools to incentivize and activate millions of hours of human capital to collaborate for positive social and environmental outcomes.

What is Ethereum?
Ethereum is a public blockchain that is similar to Bitcoin, meaning that it is a digital ledger that can be trusted, without any single entity or organization administering it. This makes Ethereum perfect for international payments, letting anyone contribute to bounties happening across the globe.
What is Ether (ETH)?
Ether is the native currency that powers Ethereum, rewarding validators for maintaining the network, and letting users transact with each other fluidly.
How can I track the ETH I earn?
All of the ETH you earn will be stored in your digital wallet. When you complete the bounty, you'll receive the ETH to the wallet in your Trust Wallet app. All of your earnings will be tied to this digital wallet, which only you will be able to control.
What is Trust Wallet?
Trust Wallet is a mobile Ethereum wallet that provides users with unified wallet address that can be used to manage both Ethereum and all ERC20 tokens. It is also a fully functioning Web3 browser that can be used to interact with any decentralized application, such as The Bounties Network.
How do I convert my ETH into Pesos?
If you wish to withdraw the ETH into Pesos, you can transfer the tokens to your Coins.ph wallet (or to any other exchange), that can credit you in fiat currency.
What is Coins.ph?
Coins.ph is the simplest way to buy and exchange Ethereum for fiat currency in the Philippines. Their secure wallet lets you buy or sell ETH instantly, even if you don't have a bank account.
Why do I need to verify my identity?
In order to comply with anti-money-laundering laws, your local exchange will need to verify your identity using your ID before letting you convert your ETH into Pesos.
Can I continue to make money for cleaning beaches even after the event?
Yes! The ocean cleanup bounty will still be live on The Bounties Network for you to fulfill long after the event!
